fq040205-13 - Re-use of E-Disk® Flash Drive After Going Through securErase®

QUESTION:

How do we reuse an E-Disk® flash drive that has undergone the securErase® data sanitization process? Does it matter if erasure was performed by a software SCSI/IDE command or by hardware (with or without PowerGuard® Instant Erase, Erase on Power-Down or Standby Modes)?

ANSWER:

The mechanism by which securErase®® was initiated is not a factor. Just like an E-Disk® flash drive straight out of the assembly line, it must be reformatted and reloaded with the desired operating system and applications to make it suitable for reuse.
