QUESTION:

How can I interpret/decode the sub-part number indicated on the E-Disk® drive product label?

ANSWER:

Each E-Disk® drive has a unique 16-byte sub-part number as described and illustrated below. However, the details below do not apply for sub-part numbers starting with 1".

C-XX-F-XXX-W-X-CSC-XXX-C

C: Casing

M = Machined Casing (Standard/Default)

For 2.5" E-Disk® ATA/IDE Only:

U = Ultra Low Profile Casing without Side Mounting Holes
L = Low Profile Casing with Side Mounting Holes
P = Low Profile Casing with Side Mounting Holes and Embedded PG1

For E-Disk® Plug-in Module Only:

D = Conduction Cooled
V = Convection Cooled

For E-Disk® SolidTape Only:

T = SolidTape Cartridge



F*: Number of E-Disks

1 = 1 E-Disk®
2 = 2 E-Disks®

W*: Wiring

M = Motorola Wiring
F = Force Wiring

*Only applicable to Plug-In Modules

CSC: Customer Special Configuration

For customers with special configurations arranged with BiTMICRO, this is an assigned 3-character field.
Please contact your sales representatives for the CSC ID.

For standard configurations, this field is simply XXX.

C: Coating

N = No Conformal Coating
A = Acrylic Conformal Coating
S = Silicon Conformal Coating

All other fields denoted with X are for BiTMICRO internal purposes only.
