tk040204-01 - Terminators Compatible with the E-Disk® 3S40E SCSI Wide Flash Drive

OVERVIEW:

The SCSI standard specifies that both ends of the cable be terminated. In most cases, the SCSI controller is at the end and is terminated on the PC board. Termination at the other end is usually supplied on the SCA backplane, or by a separate terminator block that is plugged onto the last cable connector. Only the ends of the SCSI bus should be terminated.

DISCUSSION:

Active terminators are most suitable for the E-DiskŪ 3S40 Flash disk uses since these work well with high-speed SCSI buses, i.e. 20/40/80/160 MB/s. The E-Disk 3S40E is already equipped with active terminators and is shipped from the factory with termination disabled.
