OVERVIEW:

BiTMICRO suggests that the E-Disk firmware be upgraded with the latest version for several reasons:

• To benefit from added functionality/features on the E-Disk® firmware
• To fix compatibility issues with older E-Disk® models
• To fix problem(s) or "bugs" encountered in the field

DISCUSSION:

To upgrade the E-Disk firmware using EDA:

You must first download the E-Disk Analyzer (EDA) application at http://www.bitmicro.com/support_login.php. The EDA application and other resources available at BiTMICRO's Online Technical Support Area are for registered users only with login access codes. However, existing customers may also request for login access codes by filling out our E-mail Support Form.

There are different types of EDA application available in the site. Download the application that matches your operating system and E-Disk flash drive.

After installing the EDA application, follow these steps:

1. Launch EDA application.

2. Click on "Download"

3. Click "Yes" to start download of microcode.

4. Power cycle the E-Disk® flash drive after completing the firmware upgrade. Reconfiguration may take several minutes after power up.

After reconfiguration, you can proceed with formatting the E-Disk® flash drive.
