EDisk® Sets New Standards in FlashDrive and Solid State Hard Disk Drive Technology
FREMONT, California -- Jan. 7, 1999 -- BiT Microsystems, Inc. today introduced Electronic-Disk™, a line of record-breaking flashdrive and solid state hard disk storage solutions that are unmatched in performance, capacity, and speed.
Their all-electronic disk first product, EDisk® SNX35, exceeds the performance of all the solid state hard disk and flashdrive storage currently offered in the market.
BiT Microsystems' patented FlashBus™ technology enables their EDisk SNX35 to deliver 5 MBytes/sec burst read and write transfer rates and greater than 4.5 MBytes/sec sustained read and write transfer rates. The all electronic disk solid state hard disk and flashdrive solution storage capacities range from 128 MBytes to an unprecedented 9728 MBytes of completely bootable flash memory.
This all-electronic disk storage flashdrive and solid state disk disk solution requires no installable device drivers and contains no moving parts, thereby providing very reliable and stable data storage. The SNX35 EDisk flashdrive uses the SCSI-2 command set and is backward compatible. Robustly packaged in 3.5" form factor common to standard hard disks, the EDisk® SNX35 flash drive is an ideal drop-in replacement for electro-mechanical hard disk drives.
