BiTMICRO Networks Sets Another World Record Performance in 2.5 inch Fast SCSI Solid State Flash Disk
Breaking the record held by its forerunner, SNX25, E-Disk® SFX25's sought after performance addresses aviation, telecom, aerospace, medical, networking, and other mission critical storage applications
SAN JOSE, California -- Feb. 22, 2000 -- Not satisfied to rest on their laurels, BiTMICRO Networks, Inc. today announced another performance record setting addition to their E-Disk® family of solid state disk drives. BiTMICRO Networks' newest addition, the SFX25, doubles the performance of their first entry into the 2.5" SCSI market, the SNX25. When announced earlier this month, the SNX25 set the new standard for capacity and performance of flash based 2.5 inch solid state disks.
The SFX25 utilizes BiTMICRO Networks' patented FlashBus™ technology, which has enabled BiTMICRO Networks to produce flash based storage devices that are as much as 15 times faster than their nearest competitors' flash disk drives. The SFX25 has exceptionally fast maximum access times of 0.20 ms. The SFX25 delivers astonishing sustained read and write transfer rates in excess of 9.0 MBytes per second and burst read and write transfer rates of 10 MBytes per second.
"Unlike our competitors' products, the SFX25 means that flash based data storage no longer equates to having to compromise on capacity, performance, or reliability. We are very proud to have outdone ourselves," said Todd Rowan, key member of the SFX25 design team.
"The SFX25's compact size and combination of reliability and performance make it an ideal solution for data collection systems, data appliances, POS systems, test equipment and other applications that require the highest levels of reliability and performance," added Ricky Bruce, chief technology officer of BiTMICRO Networks.
The E-Disk® SFX25 requires no special mounting hardware and is fully SCSI compatible making it a convenient replacement for conventional 2.5" SCSI disks. The SFX25 is available in capacities ranging from 128 MBytes to 4,352 MBytes and is supported on a wide variety of platforms such as Windows, MacOS, and various UNIX variants including Solaris, FreeBSD, AIX, HP-UX, IRIX, Linux, NetBSD, QNX, Tru64, et al.
