Former President of AT&T Transmission and Systems Business' Extensive Experience and Management Expertise to Add Stability to Business Development
FREMONT, California -- Oct. 4, 2000 -- BiTMICRO Networks, Inc., developer of high performance solid state flash disk storage solutions, today announced that Peter D. Fenner, President and CEO of Com21 (NASDAQ: CMTO ), has joined its Board of Directors.
"We are very pleased to have a seasoned and experienced senior executive like Peter as an integral part of our Board of Directors," said Rey Bruce, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of BiTMICRO® Networks. "Peter's extensive business knowledge and experience in the telecommunications industry will add depth to our Board's ability to properly position the company as our business expands," added Bruce.
Before joining Com21, Mr. Fenner has been with AT&T (NYSE: T) for over 30 years where he held various senior management positions including President and Corporate Officer of AT&T Transmission Systems Business from 1989-1992. Under his watch, AT&T Transmission Systems Business had over $3B in revenues and won the prestigious Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award for business excellence and quality achievement.
Prior to his stint with AT&T's Transmission System Business, Mr. Fenner was Vice-President of Product Planning for AT&T's $12B Network Systems from 1986-89 and was Vice President for Sales of Bell Atlantic from 1982 to 1986.
"BiTMICRO Networks is strategically poised to leverage its FlashBus and E-Disk® technologies very well in the NAS and SAN markets," commented Fenner. Mr. Fenner is a graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and is a Sloan fellow from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
