Former Extreme Networks VP, Paul Romeo Joins BiTMICRO® Networks Advisory Board

 

Executive Perceives Network Storage Industry Potential for Company

 

FREMONT, California -- Feb. 27, 2001 -- BiTMICRO Networks, Inc., developer of high performance flash disk, solid state disk and network storage solutions, today announced that Nexsi Vice President of Manufacturing, Paul Romeo has joined its Advisory Board.

 

"Paul Romeo's 30 years of diverse manufacturing experience is going to be a real asset to our Advisory Board,'' said Rey H. Bruce, founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of BiTMICRO® Networks. ``He will provide valuable insights to us in turning out top quality intelligent storage products and keeping us positioned for both leadership and growth in the industry,'' added Bruce.

 

Prior to Nexsi, Mr. Romeo served as the Vice President of Operations for Gigabit Ethernet pioneer, Extreme Networks. From 1989 to 1997, he served as the Vice President of Operations at Compression Labs, a video conferencing company. Prior to that, he served as Vice president of Manufacturing at High Yield Technology. He started his career at Hewlett-Packard where he worked in several different management positions for 15 years.

 

"I think that adding intelligence to the use of flash memory as a data storage system is a methodology that is extremely timely,'' said Mr. Romeo. ``Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) products are the future and BiTMICRO® is well positioned to be in the forefront,'' he added.

 

Mr. Romeo received an MBA from Santa Clara University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
