Phoenix International Adopts BiTMICRO's E-Disk® Solid State Drive Technology in VME and Compact PCI Memory Storage Solutions
New E-Disk® Technology Equipped VME and Compact PCI Solutions Serve the Defense and Aerospace Industries with Unparalleled Reliability, Performance and Capacity
ORANGE, California -- Nov. 6, 2001 -- Phoenix International, known for its innovation in product engineering design, once again led the way in the successful implementation of BiTMICRO® Networks' E-Disk® solid state drive technology in its newest product lines of VME and Compact PCI storage subsystems, offering unparalleled reliability, performance and capacity.
Phoenix International flashdrive storage solutions are designed for the system integrators and users to provide the latest storage technology to VME and Compact PCI bus systems. The storage subsystems are compact enough to fit into the users' tightest design and can house proven E-Disk® technology storage devices in a space as small as a single 6U form factor slot.

Phoenix's new VME and Compact PCI flashdrive products provide unique solutions for data storage portability and uninterrupted operation. They allow the transporting of stand-alone data storage device for secure, or archival storage off-line or for transferring data files to operating storage arrays, servers or host platforms. Receiving frames or entire chassis for any of these external repositories are also available from Phoenix.
Further, they include the most comprehensive set of features for VME and Compact PCI applications in the industry. They are transparent to any Operating Systems ("Plug and Play") and scalable to the highest solid state disk drive storage capacity available. They have Fast Narrow or Wide Ultra SCSI I/O. The SCSI connects via front panel and/or backplane P2 connectors. The internal bus terminations are automatic. The keylock "Soft" power eliminates any power spikes. They have front panel device ID select and activity indicator. They are made of rugged steel construction with internal heat sink.

BiTMICRO's E-Disk® SSD flash disk based on patented FlashBus™ technology offer unprecedented sustained random read and write transfer rates of up to 68 megabytes per second and random access times of less than 42 microseconds. The E-Disk's flash disk storage capacities range between 128 megabytes and 77 gigabytes.
E-Disk® solid state flashdisk devices are configured to have the same form, fit and function as hard disk drives (HDD), but without the need for large power heat dissipation, noise protection and environmental hardening. They are offered with SCSI, IDE or Fibre Channel interfaces in 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch HDD form factors.
The E-Disk® brand storage devices are fully compatible with Linux, Solaris, Windows, MacOS and LynxOS. They also support AIX, FreeBSD, HP-UX, IRIX, NetBSD, OS/2, QNX, VxWorks, SCO Unixware and OpenServer, Solaris x86 and Tru64.
