BiTMICRO® Networks' E-Disk® SCSI Technology To Be Used by General Dynamics for US Marines' Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle

FREMONT, California -- Feb. 28, 2002 -- General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has selected BiTMICRO^® Networks' SCSI E-Disk^® technology to use as the solid state memory for the solid state Data Storage Systems for the U.S. Marines' Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV).

The E-Disk^® SCSI Flash Memory SSD-based storage systems to be used in these amphibious vehicles offer dramatic ruggedness while providing high-performance. The E-Disk^® uses patented BiTMICRO^® FlashBus™ technology, delivering unprecedented sustained random read and write transfer rates and capacity in a small footprint over other solid state storage devices.
