Conduant Corporation and BiTMICRO Networks Partner to offer Ultra-Fast Solid State Recorders

E-Disk extends High-Speed Recording for extreme environments

LONGMONT, Colorado, March 27, 2003 - Conduant Corporation, the leading developer of ultra-fast, hard disk-based, long duration recording and playback systems, and BiTMICRO Networks, a pioneer in intelligent flash disk ATA/IDE, SCSI, USB, VME, cPCI and Fibre Channel solid state disk (SSD) storage solutions, announced today that they are partnering to provide Conduant's Big River SSD digital recorders. Designed to meet the growing demand in both commercial and military applications for ultra-fast, highly reliable recording, the Big River portable and rack mount recorders offer hours of sustained recording from 22 MBytes/Sec up to 175 MBytes/Sec on BiTMICRO E-Disk® drives even in the most extreme environments.

"The Conduant and BiTMICRO collaboration addresses the need for highly reliable, ultra-fast digital recorders that can perform under less than ideal environmental conditions. We see the emergence of multiple applications requiring high sustained data rates and long duration with the assurance of extended availability and uncompromised data integrity," says Tom Skrobacz, Conduant's VP of Business Development. BiTMICRO's President Rudy Bruce adds, "We believe Conduant's StreamStor based technology is meeting the market's increasing hunger for performance with flying colors. We at BiTMICRO ensure that the precious recorded data is available and safe for extended periods of time, regardless of harsh conditions."

Conduant's engineers recognized the benefits of using solid-state drives to compliment its sustained data throughput performance and extend both data availability and reliability. BiTMICRO's E-Disk® proved to be the ideal solution. Conduant's StreamStor™ controllers are designed for guaranteed sustained recording on IDE disk drives. Conduant benchmarked 175 Mbytes/Sec on the BitMICRO E-Disk® drives with zero software or hardware modifications during 1Q2003. The Big River recorders available with the E-Disk® drives are available immediately. Pricing starts at about $48K for the 175Mbyte/Sec Big River SSD recorders.

See the Big River SSD recorders at Aerosense, April 22-24 in Orlando Florida at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, Booth 533.
