| BiTMICRO's Ace-Disk™ 2.5" IDE/ATA Flash Drive Enables High-Performance Solid State Storage Functionality in a Low-Cost, Plug-and-Play Form Factor | ![]() |
Affordable Drop-In Replacement for IDE/ATA Hard Disk Drives Can Survive Extreme Temperatures Between -40 to +85ºC, Operating Shock up to 1,000 Gs and Operating Vibration up to 15 Gs
Fremont, California - August 3, 2004 - BiTMICRO® Networks, a pioneer in intelligent flash IDE/ATA, SCSI, USB, VME, PMC, CompactPCI, Firewire, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel solid state storage solutions, today announced the introduction of its Ace-DiskT IDE/ATA 2.5" Series.
This newest member of the Ace-Disk™ family of solid-state flash drives addresses market demand for low-cost, non-volatile storage solutions and builds upon BiTMICRO's innovations in performance and reliability. It is fully compatible with the IDE/ATA interface, making it a suitable drop-in replacement for standard 2.5-inch IDE/ATA hard disk drives (HDD) in military and industrial environments where ruggedness, reliability and system compatibility are of utmost importance.
The Ace-Disk™ IDE/ATA 2.5" Series supports PIO Modes 0-2, allowing burst read/write rates of up to 8.3 MB/sec and sustained read and write rates of 2.5 MB/sec and 1.2 MB/sec, respectively. It is available in a variety of densities ranging from 64 MB to 2 GB of pure solid-state storage. This Ace-Disk™ series has a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 300,000 hours and operates dependably in harsh environments that include extreme temperature (-40 to +85ºC), shock (1,000 Gs) and vibration (15 G).
"The 2.5-inch version of our solid state disks is one of the most popular among our direct attach storage products since it has become the de facto standard for portable and rugged storage applications," said Rudy Bruce, Founder and President of BiTMICRO Networks. "By providing these applications a low-cost solid state storage option, the Ace-Disk™ IDE/ATA 2.5" Series should promote rapid and cost-effective implementations of flash memory based storage in military, embedded and industrial systems. We expect Ace-Disk™ to carry on the E-Disk™ legacy of unparalleled durability and performance."
