Medical Systems

Medical systems use the DAS and RAID architectures for developing multiprocessor applications for signal and image processing and laboratory equipment for medical imaging. SSDs are usually deployed as file cache systems for all-digital acquisition, processing and storage systems that require high throughput and short exam times thereby increasing access to images and speeding critical information to the point of care.

Just like in enterprise applications, SSDs are deployed in RAID systems or in direct-attach mode using small, large, or very large VME, PCI, or cPCI ruggedized products, convection or conduction-cooled. These configurations are used by workstations for developing multiprocessor applications for signal and image processing for magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, digital X-ray, positron emission tomography, ultrasound, and digital cardiology.

In addition to having higher performance, reliability, and ruggedness, our E-Disk® and E-Disk® SAN SSD products offer additional security and data protection features required by these applications that are not offered by any other supplier.
