In solid state storage, flash chips are as good as the controllers and engines that manage them.
E-Disk Altima™ drives take pride in solid state drives (SSD) that feature proprietary controllers and memory flash interfaces (MFI) that deliver high performance and reliable storage solutions to the military, industrial and enterprise markets.
Memory Flash Interface
LUNETA™, or Logical Unifier of Extensive Transfer Arrays, actively performs flash memory handling where all program/erase transactions are systematically carried out, thereby minimizing I/O bottlenecks. This MFI supports multiple flash memory buses per chip. It also features support for single, dual and quad die devices and offers applicability to both SLC and MLC flash devices.
SSD Controller
EDSA™, or Enhanced Datamover and Storage Accelerator, is a proprietary controller developed in the labs of BiTMICRO that supports multiple flash engines for increased capacities while maintaining high performance capabilities. This SSD controller supports various flash page and block sizes and includes the latest error correction technologies. The EDSA SSD controller can carry out simultaneous transactions with ease and offers multi-block erase operations. It also maintains a cache program to optimize flash accesses.
